Alan Franklin’s first trip to mainland Europe was to transport antiques, on his own, from England to Belgium in a small transit van – he has never looked back since.

Alan Franklin Transport Ltd has grown since that first trip 30 years ago and is now reputedly one of the major transport specialists within Europe working with individuals, companies and many recognised organisations such as auctioneers and museums.

Alan was joined by his son Richard in 1982 and now, as joint directors of the company, it remains uppermost in their motivation to maintain a friendly working environment along with the approachability, professionalism efficiency and attention to detail that has been constant throughout the company’s growth.

Departing from our U.K. office and warehouses our large fleet of vehicles crosses the U.K. and mainland Europe collecting and delivering goods at various antique shops, private addresses, warehouses and fairs. Over the years we have gathered a large amount of knowledge about the antique trade and transportation enabling us to provide a service that is comprehensive, specialised and competitively priced.

Our collection and delivery schedules include a daily service to and from London, weekly services to and from Paris and Belgium and regular departures to all parts of France, Italy, Germany, Holland, Spain, Switzerland and Luxembourg. All of our vehicles are accompanied by two members of staff and deliveries and collections are arranged in advance.

With our additional office and warehouse facilities in Paris, the South of France and Belgium we are also able to offer local delivery services in the areas surrounding these offices.
